Some satellite TV providers, such as Dish Network, offer HDTV receivers with their packages. But many people don’t know what it means to have HDTV. Here is some insight.

High Definition TeleVision is what HDTV literally means. But high definition compared to what? In order to answer this question, we need to know a bit about the original analog TV system.

Analog TV
30 images per second (in Europe 25) are shown by normal analog TV sets. It does this by writing image lines horizontally, 525 lines in one image (In Europe 625) on the screen. The number of pixels on one line is about 500. This would be a definition of 500 pixels per line by 525 (or 625) lines. Compared to modern computer monitors this is really bad. Even the lowest resolutions monitors have higher resolutions (640 x 480) than an analog TV.

HDTV – High Definition TeleVision
HDTV is high resolution Digital TeleVision (DTV) combined with Dolby Digital Surround Sound (AC-3). There are 18 different formats defined for Digital TV of which 6 are considered to be HDTV.

The difference between Progressive and Interlaced is not difficult. It has to do with how one image is built up. With interlaced technology the odd lines are shown first and then the even lines are shown. The lines are shown in this order: 1,3,5,….521, 523, 525, 2, 4, 6,…. 522, 524, 1, 3, etc. This means that every 1/60 of a second a half image is shown. This often results in flickering, which can be tiring for the eyes.
Progressive technology manages to show a whole image every 1/60 of a second, resulting in a much smoother picture.

How Is HDTV Better?
Normal TV has a resolution of about 210.000 pixels. An HDTV screen has a resolution of upto 2.000.000 pixels, which gives up to 10 times more picture detail.

The aspect ration of normal TV is 4 x 3 (4/3 times wider than high). An HDTV screen has an aspect ration of 16 x 9, which is also known as wide screen.

The Future of HDTV
The FCC (Federal Communications Committee) has mandated that all TV stations in the USA have to be able to broadcast HDTV programs by the year 2006. The mandates of the FCC do not have an impact on just the broadcast companies, but also on cable companies and consumers.

Broadcast companies have to invest on new equipment like cameras, editing equipment, etc.

Cable companies have to convert all of their equipment, including receivers at the homes of their clients.

Consumers may have to buy new equipment, like a top-box to convert digital signals back to analog signals, or even buy a whole new TV set.

HDTV is the future, and a really big step forward. We once started with simple black and white TV, then moved to color TV, and wide screen TV. But all those systems were still based on the same signals as the original black and white TV used. When color TV was introduced it was not possible to force the complete population to throw away their black and white TV-sets and buy a color TV set. Therefore a color TV signal still needed to be understandable for a black and white TV. This prohibited the improvement of picture quality until the age of Digital TV.

The need to satisfy older TV sets no longer exists and the much higher quality HDTV is available via Satellite TV Systems, including Dish Network.

In order to understand how to clean carpet, we need to know what soil is and the problems it presents. Soil in carpet is any substance that is foreign to the carpet’s construction. Soil includes substances such as dirt, sand, food, oil, hair, dust, and anything else that finds its way onto carpet. Carpet not only traps soils that fall onto it, but it also acts as a filter for the environment. Dust, dander, soot, gases and odors are all trapped in carpet.

Most soil found in carpet is sand and dirt tracked in by foot traffic. This type of soil is abrasive to the carpet and is what causes the carpet to wear. The gritty matter actually cuts and scratches the fibers of the carpet, resulting in a dull, worn appearance. The rest of the soil found in the carpet is usually grease and oils. This type of soil is acidic, which is why most carpet cleaning chemicals are alkaline cleaners. Alkaline cleaners neutralize the acids in order to remove the grease and oils.

Soil and dirt are considered “soluble” whereas oil, grease and solids are considered “insoluble”, which means they can’t be dissolved in water or solvents. Because soil and dirt are soluble, they are more easily removed with vacuuming and extraction. However it’s the insoluble matter that professional carpet cleaners are more concerned about.

One of the problems inexperienced carpet cleaners have is leaving residue in carpet. This is one of the main reasons they’re often called back to the job — residue causes rapid re-soiling, prompting phone calls from unhappy customers.

What about “apparent” soil? Apparent soil isn’t actually soil at all. It’s simply the worn appearance of the carpet that makes it seem like it’s dirty. Busy hallways often have wear patterns and scratches in the fibers that simply can’t be restored with cleaning. When carpet cleaning contractors see carpets with these conditions, it’s best to explain it to the customer before work begins so they understand that you won’t be able to repair the wear patterns.

Following are the steps needed to remove soil from carpet:

1. Remove the dry soil, sand and solids by vacuuming.

2. Suspend the soil. This means separating the soil from the carpet so it can be removed. There are 4 keys to soil suspension: temperature, agitation, chemical action, and time. If one of these four are missing or decreased, then you need to compensate for it by increasing one of the other three. For example, if you don’t have enough heated water, then you can compensate with additional agitation.

3. Soil removal (extraction). This is accomplished by rinsing (steam cleaning or hot water extraction method), absorption (spin bonneting), or after-drying (dry powders that are vacuumed up).

4. Rake the carpet so that wand marks or swirl marks are removed.

5. The last step is drying the carpet. This needs to happen as quickly as possible in order to avoid problems such as re-soiling, mildew and odor. The fastest way to dry carpet is with fans or air movers. Understanding soil and what it takes to remove it properly from carpet is the first step to providing carpet cleaning services in your business. And when removed properly, results in satisfied customers.

Welding is one of the most resourceful activities in the world. Defined as a fabrication process that is used to join materials, welding often requires the melting of a material before joining it to another through the use of heat. The welding industry employs a large number of workers and, because it is a dangerous job, it requires specialized training and certification.

In addition to pre-employment training, welding also requires specific safety measures that must be followed by every worker. The proper knowledge combined with today’s technology can reduce the likelihood of injuries related to welding. However, the risks associated with any job can never be completely eliminated. Because welding commonly involves exposure to extreme heat, there is a significant risk of burns. In an effort to prevent this risk, welding professionals must wear protective clothing, including leather gloves and special long sleeve jackets. The additional coverage will help to prevent the likelihood of flames coming into contact with the skin and thereby helps to prevent burns.

Actual contact is not the only risk associated to welding. In fact, the brightness of the welding process is often damaging to the worker’s eye. A condition may develop as a result of the cornea becoming inflamed and/or the retina becoming burned after exposure to ultraviolet light. In order to prevent this occurrence, welding professionals are required to wear a helmet and goggles with a darkened face plate. A number of companies also manufacture helmets with the face plate built-in.

Welding professionals are also often exposed to harmful gases and/or smoke. In an effort to reduce the worker’s exposure to these potentially dangerous pollutants, proper ventilation must be provided. Employers who offer welding positions are responsible for the care and safety of their workers and, as such, are required to uphold certain safety standards in maintaining a proper work environment.

In order to find work as a welding professional, interested candidates are usually required to attend classes for certification. The length of time spent in this type of learning environment will vary depending on the position and required expertise of the welder. In order to enroll in welding certification classes, candidates will likely be required to pay a small fee before signing up. The certification process is not lengthy and classes typically last for several months. After successful completion, the graduate is awarded with a welding certification. At that time, he/she may apply for jobs in the industry that is related to their field of study.

Article Body:
Family Guy is an animated sitcom created by Seth MacFarlane, which centers on its title character, Peter Griffin and his family. Peter is a bumbling and inept blue-collar worker, who although is well-intentioned, often puts himself and his middle class family in troubling circumstances due to his foolish actions.

Other characters include Lois (wife), Chris (son), Meg (daughter), Stewie (baby), and Brian (talking dog). The cartoon first aired on FOX in 1999, but was later cancelled in 2002 due to poor ratings. However, after receiving positive and significant responses to the sitcom’s release on DVD and its reruns on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, FOX revived and resumed production of the show and brought it back to air on its network channel.

On March 26, 2004, Fox officially announced it would produce and broadcast at least 22 more episodes of Family Guy. More recently, Variety reported on September 27, 2005 that 20th Century Fox has committed to produce and air another 22 episodes of Family Guy.

Family Guy remains a very popular animated sitcom, sustained by its brand of humor that often employs brief and frequent nonsensical cutaways with heavy pop culture references, in addition to cutting to random flashbacks to various points in history, geography, and reality.

Laughter: Use It to Pick Up Women

One of the best ways of picking up women is by making them laugh. Here, I supply some such funny stories to start up a conversation.

Article Body:
Humour, some say, is the fruit of life, and this is especially true when it comes to picking up on a girl no matter where the location. Make them laugh, and I guarantee, that you are very close to getting their phone number and even to getting them to go out with you.

But, as we all know, making them laugh, is easier said than done. Precisely for those who find it difficult to come up with something funny to say, I am adding some funny anecdotes and wise cracks that you can memorize and then use in those situations where you need to get the girl in front of you to laugh.

1) The Prescription:
Did you hear of the lady, who walked into the pharmacist and asked for arsenic?
The man behind the counter asked in wonder, “What do you need that for?
The lady calmly replied,” to kill my husband.”
The pharmacist was taken aback,” Are you crazy? Do you want to get us both into jail? And, anyway, why do you want to kill him? Go to a counselor. Get help for your marriage.”
The lady paused and from her purse she removed a set of pictures of her husband and the wife of the pharmacist in some very creative postures.
The pharmacist looked at the snaps, put them down and smiled,” lady, why did you not tell me that you have a prescription?”

2) The Tip Book
A wife calls out to her husband, “Have you seen the book, 101 Tips to Live for More Than a Hundred Years?
The husband sheepishly replies, “I burnt it.”
“What?” the wife shouted out,” why?”
The husband whispered back,” Because your mother wanted to read it.”

3) Range of Food
Looking at his wife fry meat balls in all kinds of shapes and sizes, Tom tapped her on the shoulder, “Why?”
His wife turned,” Because you asked for a variety of food.”

4) Mushrooms
Tom was picking mushrooms from the forest floor with his wife, when she picked up one and showed it to Tom,” Is this for eating?”
Tom smiled,” Yes. As long as you do not cook it.”

5) Driving Around
Tom greeted his wife when she returned home,” So, my dear, how was your first time driving all alone?”
His wife smiled coyly, “Do you want to hear it from me or read about it in the papers?

6) Drama
A couple are watching a film in their local theater when the wife snuggles close to her husband and points to the screen,” Do you think that they will get married in the end?”
The husband sighs,” Yes. These movies always have bad endings.”

7) The Library
Tom visited the local library, walks up to the librarian and asks, “Do you know where I can find the book, the Supremacy of Men over Women?”
The librarian conducts a short search on the computer and looks up,” you will be able to find it in the science fiction.”

Conclusion:
While some of these might sound offensive, if you use them well you will be able to display not just a sense of humour, but also that you are exactly the opposite of the stereotype. How? Immediately, after you done, lean over and whisper, But I am not like that, and if you allow me to take you out, you will see that for yourself.

This can also work to your advantage should you come across a property you may want to invest in but lack the information that comes with the type of property. There may be another investor in the group who will want to form a joint venture with you in order to take advantage of the deal. Many times there may be two or three investors who are willing to make the deal happen. This is also a great way to break into commercial investing. How To Set Learners Up To Fail

I just attended a three- day marketing seminar conducted by a self-proclaimed curriculum design expert.

It was very disappointing to see once again what happens when a trainer ignores the basics and sets learners up to fail.

She made ten glaring mistakes. Here are the first five:

1. Never say “no” when a participant asks a question or makes a comment. It immediately becomes a rejection of the person, who will not risk volunteering questions or comments again. Time and again in this class, the trainer would either respond “no” to a question or comment, with and sometimes without further clarification. I’m not saying that she was nasty about it. It is simply a fact that “no” can invalidate the individual’s thought and, depending on the sensitivity of the individual, invalidate the person as well.

Instead, accept responsibility for confusion on the part of the participant. “I’m sorry, I may not have been clear.” Or, “I can see why you might think that. I may not have made my point as directly as I might have.” Or, “If I had said x, then you would have been perfectly correct. However, I said y and must not have made the distinction as well as I had hoped. Let me rephrase… ”

2. Never ignore it when a good portion of the class is confused by a point or an instruction. In the case of this course, I watched the trainer send 1/3 of the audience to the back of the room for remedial assistance with coaches and then proceed to teach new concepts to the remaining 2/3rds of the audience. Can we count the ways that this was irresponsible on the part of the trainer?

Instead, if a good portion of an audience doesn’t understand a concept and it is a critical stepping stone to the next concept, STOP and RETEACH. Don’t remove them from the group and then make them have to catch up on something that confused them in the first place!!!

3. Never give participants a complex assignment without first modeling what you want them to do. In this course, the instructor gave a worksheet that required very complex thinking and told the group to go fill it out. Of course, people got stuck. What should have been a very productive hour and a half of writing became one and a half hours of shared frustration.

Instead, walk the class through each step, modeling it at least twice. Post flipcharts of that work in plain sight so that the participants have examples for reference. Then you will have set them up for success.

4. Never take up so much time on creating a positive relationship that you lose time for content. In this case, the trainer included a number of games and activities that had no relevance to the content. Then she was rushed when she got to the actual content.

Instead, focus on both content and relationship-building. It is important for a group of participants to feel comfortable in a class. It is also important for them to get the content they paid to receive. Energizers are great, just keep them manageable so they don’t eat up most of the time.

The Worst Advice Speakers Get

Speakers get nervous. It’s only natural. For most people, it is an opportunity on an important stage to make a good impression – or not! Sympathetic supporters try to help with what they think is good advice. Sometimes it is; but often it’s not. In fact, some of the worst advice I’ve ever heard has been given to speakers by friends, family and colleagues.

“Don’t be nervous… you’ll be great.”

When has telling people not to be nervous made them less nervous? It’s like telling someone not to feel hot. You cannot just switch these sensations on and off. And telling someone suffering stage fright that they will be great is unhelpful or simply unheard.

It’s terrible advice because most people are already telling themselves, “I should not be so nervous.” It simply reinforces their feeling of wrongness. Not only are they feeling nervous; they’re feeling guilty for feeling that way! What a sure-fire way to erode self-confidence.

Instead, they should be told that nervousness is normal. Some of the world’s most famous performers still get debilitating performance anxiety. Once they accept the fact that this is just the body’s natural reaction to a high-stress scenario, they can look at ways to mitigate the effects. This might be slow deep breathing, stepping out their presentation (metaphorically and/or literally), listening to their favourite music – it’s very individual.

“Calm down.”

Same as “Don’t be nervous”. Wasted words.

Instead, recognise the adrenalin rush and help turn it from a negative energy to a positive excitement by reassuring them how much the audience is looking forward to their presentation.

“Keep changing your presentation so it will always be interesting for you.”

Compare your speech to a tour. You are the tour guide, the venues you visit constitute your content and your audience is the tour group. Imagine you are a tourist in that group and the guide says, “Welcome to X. This is the first time I’ve been here. The other places get pretty boring after a while.”

Your interest and satisfaction must be based on your ability to interest the audience, not to interest yourself. And to give your audience the most interesting experience, you need to know your content well – especially your key phrases, facts and stories.

Instead they should be told, “You’ve done this before, so you know what works. Just give them that.”

“Imagine them naked.”

This one has been around for eons. And it’s always been silly advice. The likely result is that you will find it distracting,,,or disturbing!

Instead the advice should be to locate two or three people in the audience (ideally seated in different areas) who seem interested. Make eye contact with these people. Ignore those with negative body language. In a room of 20 or more there will always be someone who doesn’t want to be there (unless you are a celebrity!) They are not your problem. Just focus on the ones who do want to be there.

What is the inheritance tax rate?

What is the inheritance tax rate? There is no such thing as a federal inheritance tax rate. The inheritance tax is imposed on a state level, and not all states have one. For example, Texas does not impose an inheritance tax, and https://nasledstvo.today/ some states refer to an estate tax and an inheritance tax as the same thing even though they are technically very different. Other terms you may hear used in place of inheritance tax are “death duty” in the United Kingdom, “estate duty” in Hong Kong, or “stamp duty” in Bermuda. Some places such as Australia and the British Virgin Islands do not currently have an inheritance tax nor have they ever had one.

DIFFERENCE OF AN ESTATE TAX AND INHERITANCE TAX

The difference between the estate tax and the inheritance tax lies with who is actually responsible for paying the taxes owed.

WHO PAYS THE ESTATE TAX?

With an estate tax it is the responsibility of the Administrator, or Executor, of the estate to pay the taxes. The taxes are calculated based on the entire value of the estate, and if the Administrator cannot pay the taxes out of the estate’s value then it becomes the responsibility of the heirs to pay the taxes. The federal government will impose this tax according to established guidelines which include the value of the estate.

WHO PAYS THE INHERITANCE TAX?

An inheritance tax is the individual responsibility of each heir. Determining the financial responsibility of the heirs for the inheritance tax is based on several key factors.

WHAT IS THE INHERITANCE TAX RATE? IT DEPENDS…

The inheritance tax rate varies depending on the relationship of the heir to the deceased (decedent). Each state may determine this rate, and if the heir is a distant relative or friend the inheritance tax rate will be much higher than if the heir is a spouse or child of the decedent.

A child may be entitled to an exemption of the first $3000 of their inheritance and be responsible for only a 7.5% tax on inheritance valued over $100,000. In contrast, a friend of the decedent may be taxed as much as thirty percent and only receive a tax exemption on the first hundred dollars.

Another consideration state government will make when determining the inheritance tax rate will be the fair market value of the property being transferred. Fair market value is not what it would cost to replace the property, but what you would be able to sell the property for if needed.

WHAT ARE THE INHERITANCE TAX EXEMPTIONS?

Your heirs may receive tax exemptions for taxes that have already been paid on the property and it is important to have all documents in a readily accessible location to prove that little or no debt is owed upon your death. If any of the inheritance has been designated for charitable organizations your heirs will not be held accountable for paying an inheritance tax on this portion of the estate.

FRAUDULENT INCOME TAX RETURNS TO AVOID THE INHERITANCE TAX

Opponents of the inheritance tax feel that in addition to an estate tax, the inheritance tax is harmful to families who may need the money immediately and cannot afford to pay harsh taxes imposed on them during an already emotionally difficult time. Critics also feel that taxes such as these encourage individuals to file fraudulent income tax returns by placing their money into annuities both on and offshore, and to establish trusts for their heirs to remove large amounts of property from their listed estate.
